Established in 2011, Paul Turner Displays Ltd (PTD) provides independent advice on graphics, exhibition services and signage solutions to a wide range of market sectors locally, nationally and internationally.

Using over 30 years of experience Paul Turner Displays will guide people through the minefield of exhibitions systems and signage products. We act as a source of information and advice for clients, so that when they decide which system or signage solution they are going to use, they do so having benefited from our extensive experience and understanding of the market and the products available.

Paul Turner cropped(GM)Paul initially trained and qualified as a photographic darkroom technician. When printing a photographer’s work, he quickly learnt that to get the best results for any image he had to work ‘with’ the photographer and understand his approach and what he was trying to achieve. Getting the absolute best result was a collaborative effort. Using this approach, Paul set up his first company, a professional photographic laboratory in Manchester, in 1990.

This collaborative ethos has continued through Paul’s working life and he is now able to quickly understand what a client needs, simply by listening properly to them. It sounds obvious, but you would be amazed at the number of exhibition salesmen who go into meetings with ‘pre conceived strategies’, and with a sales pitch geared around what they have to sell rather than what the customer needs.

As time progressed and Paul’s company started to print more and more graphics digitally, rather than with traditional photographic products. Investment in the latest digital technology quickly propelled his company to one of the largest of its kind in Manchester, working on some very high profile exhibition projects for clients including HSBC, The Post Office and BNFL. Further business ventures meant Paul was at the forefront of supplying Subway with point of sale and exhibition material during their meteoric expansion within the high street.

The increasing complexity of the digital print revolution enabled material manufacturers to increase their product offering, resulting in the prints, stands and systems you see today.

The signage industry also benefited from this technology explosion, and so a proportion of Paul’s work now includes major signage projects that not only require specialist product knowledge but also the ability to project manage complex installation procedures.
